At WCRC’s Breast Center, we use the latest in screening technologies, diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, treatment and post-treatment follow-up patient care. Our breast imaging programs include:

• Breast MRI – A leading-edge way to screen for cancer in patients with dense breast tissue and a family history of breast cancer, breast MRI is an excellent tool in treatment planning for newly diagnosed patients, evaluating scar tissue to exclude recurrent disease and the evaluation of implant integrity.

• Computer-Assisted Detection (CAD) for Breast MRI – With this system we can provide detailed information about the way a lesion takes up contrast and its morphology. When used together, breast MRI and DynaCAD increase the sensitivity and specificity of breast cancer diagnostics, allowing for a much more in-depth assessment of the stage and severity of cancer.

• Screening Mammography with CAD – Digital mammography is essential to screening for and diagnosing breast cancer. With CAD, our ability to detect abnormalities with mammography is increased by up to 20 percent, which translates to earlier detection for many patients.

• Breast Ultrasound – A primary screening tool for patients in their 20s and 30s, breast ultrasound can be critical for evaluating patients with palpable abnormalities or abnormal screening by mammograms. You can trust WCRC to provide the latest sonography possible.

• Biopsy – To diagnose found abnormalities, our radiologists can perform ultrasound-guided and stereotactic core needle biopsies. We also offer MRI-guided biopsy for those abnormalities identified by MRI but not seen by other modalities.

• DEXA Scans – Today, we can use densitometry to scan for one’s risk for developing breast cancer and osteoporosis. For your convenience, we even offer combined DEXA and mammography appointments.
