Despite all the knowledge and technology available to medical professionals, heart disease and vascular disorders remain among the most significant healthcare problems in the United States. Advancements in medical imaging are helping to change that picture.

Our Board-Certified radiologists and skilled technologists are committed to supporting cardiovascular treatment plans by providing comprehensive capabilities, subspecialty expertise and first-rate service and efficiency. Our programs include:

• Coronary Calcium Scoring Using CT – A simple, noninvasive way to determine if a patient is developing coronary artery disease long before symptoms arise, when there still may be time to reverse or mitigate the disease. CT can quantify calcium in the coronary arteries and convert it into a score that is used to predict the presence of coronary artery disease.

• Cardiac Nuclear Medicine (CNM) – CNM can differentiate cardiac causes of chest pain from other, less serious causes. One test (gated SPECT) yields images of blood flow, cardiac responses to stress and cardiac function.

• Cardiac MRI – Helps in evaluation of structural abnormalities of the heart, great vessels and pericardium; evaluation of myocardial viability and function after MI can help patients avoid unnecessary surgical procedures.

• Noninvasive Vascular Studies – Using color-flow Doppler ultrasound and peripheral pressure and waveform measurements, we help screen and follow patients at risk for disease of the carotid arteries and peripheral vessels. Venous duplex studies quickly screen for chronic or life-threatening acute venous thrombosis.

• CT & MR Angiography (MRA) – When you need detailed images of the vessels of the head, chest, abdomen and extremities CT and MRA can be critically important. In many cases, these procedures can replace invasive catheter angiography while helping determine which patients should go on to more invasive procedures. With MRA, the nontoxic contrast gadolinium allows safe angiography even in patients with diabetes and kidney disease.

Our team of radiologists includes sub-specialists in thoracic imaging, body imaging and interventional radiology. As radiologists, we evaluate the entire image, not just the suspected anatomic structure, thus maximizing your diagnostic power for patients who often have compound health issues.
